Training and development

HGG NPO Academy

HGG NPO Academy opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday, 10 April 2018. Situated at the Solaris Office Park in Kommetjie Road, Sunny Acres, the Academy offers a SAQA-accredited National Certificate in Film and Television Production, as well as a National Certificate: New Venture Creation.

The National Film and Television Certificate aims to give previously disadvantaged students the opportunity to learn film and television skills and acquire the necessary knowledge to freelance and work within the film and television industry.

HGG NPO Academy envisages itself playing a vital role in developing woman-owned small businesses, small business enterprises and entrepreneurship. To this end, the National Certificate in New Venture Creation focuses on investing in the education of local, previously disadvantaged female entrepreneurs.

The HGG NPO Academy also offers a Computer Lab, where the young people can access the Internet to apply for work or to study online.

SETA-accredited training

Current B-BBEE legislation in South Africa requires companies to be actively involved with the training and development of employees. ForwardFund Trust, in cooperation with HGG NPO Sustainability Solutions Pty Ltd, offers SETA-accredited courses for companies and communities. These courses are designed to meet the needs of specific businesses and communities. Various adjustments have also been made to these courses to meet the needs of disabled people. Employee training results in a better skilled and motivated workforce, as well as improved productivity.
